A New President!

Congratulations to José Lin, the newly elected President of the JN!

During the October 6th meeting, the JN held an election for a new president. Former JN President Brunken's four-meeting term had come to an end, and JN rules state that a new election had to be held.

Three candidates emerged as contenders for the Presidency: Kris Tsai, José Lin, and Elton Sum. President Brunken, seeing a promising field of candidates, chose not to run for re-election. After speeches by each candidate, in a vote of 8-4-0, José Lin, Ambassador of Mexico, overwhelmingly carried the election.

President Lin will serve for the next four JN meetings. After which, a new election will be held. In her speech to the JN, President Lin mentioned her desire to serve only one term and be a model for other members of the JN to follow. Will she stay true to her word? Who will succeed her? These question will be answered at the next JN Presidential Election.
